SUMMER
SCHOOL
Our Summer School 2001, held at the beginning
of July, proved to be a very enjoyable international
event. Nicholas Lodge and Margaret Ford both shared
the teaching and students came from the U.K., Japan,
Holland and Sweden. The first two days of sugarcraft
included making nasturtium, dahlia and dianthus and
the last two days of cold porcelain involved decorating
a picture frame in a garden theme. An afternoon in
York, an Indonesian Evening, and the glorious weather
(we have never eaten outside so much for years!)
made the whole event very memorable :

Then
another group from Japan, led by Toshie Harashima,
came for the Summer School Extra, to make a "Strawberry
Basket" in cold porcelain. We had private transport
to and from the York Hotel, and this was a most successful
two-day class - it was good to see some students
return to York for their second and third visit!
